Hi,

My name is Peter Palenchar. I am an Associate Teaching Professor at Villanova University. At Villanova, I really do 3 things:

1. I teach. I teach introductory chemistry classes and upper level biochemistry classes.

2. I help carry out the Department of Chemistry assessment activities and part of that and am involved in assessment research. What that means is I'm involved in figuring out how well the Department of Chemistry does at educating its students. From my perspective, assessment and teaching go hand-in-hand. Is it really teaching if there is no real learning?

3. I carry out research. I'm interested in many things, but my expertise are in analyzing large scale biological data set (e.g. genomes) and in protein/structure studies so my research focues on those issues.
