My favorite hobby is basketball. I played basketball at Belmont University and I'm proud to say that I scored over 1,000 career points over my 4 years there. Here's the ball they gave me for that accomplishment. My Bruins have been a regular in the NCAA tournament. Rick Byrd (my coach at Belmont) is one of only 7 active Division I coaches with over 700 career wins. While at Belmont, I also had the opportunity to participate in three overseas mission trips to Europe and Central America. I try to travel to see Belmont play at least once per year. I saw them come within 1 point of knocking off Duke in the NCAA tournament in 2008. In 2014, I saw them upset North Carolina in Chapel Hill. In 2015, I saw them play an exhibition game in Ireland.
I still play basketball 3-4 times per week and coach at Delaware County Christian School, where my children attend.
My other hobby is traveling with my family. In 2010, we lived in Brisbane, Australia for a semester. We had tons of fun bouncing around various cities in Australia and New Zealand. We spent the summer of 2011 in England and the summer of 2015 in Ireland. Brooke and I have also traveled to Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Sweden, Brazil, Costa Rica, and Jamaica. As much as I love to explore the world, I don't like being away from my family. In fact, I have not traveled outside the U.S. without Brooke since college.
